 Join instructor Chris Murray for a deep dive into the building blocks of realist art. In each class, we will study one of the following fundamental concepts: Value, Form, Perspective, Color Theory, Composition/Design, and Figure and Portrait Basics. We will start with a lecture, discussion, and technique demonstration, then students will complete studio work reinforcing the day’s subject. This class is open to all mediums. ADVANCED PAINTING in oils and acrylics, 4 weeks -

In this course, we will learn the tricks, tips, and techniques developed by the Old Masters to create realistic and vibrant paintings. We will explore color theory and mixing, painting light and value, composition, various applications of paint, best practices and proper use of materials, painting solvent free, and important concepts of art history. We will paint from life and study the methods to create beautiful still lifes, landscapes, and portraits. Students will work on class assignments, on their own paintings with instructor and peer critique.
