Let’s Play with Clay!

Discover the art of hand-building in this beginner-friendly clay workshop! Have a little experience and want to do your own thing? No problem, come and use this as some open studio time and create at your own will. All while having an experienced instructor on site to answer all your questions.

Sign up for all 5 weeks or just come when it suites you! Each week we will have a different project to create OR fueled by your own creativity, design your own masterpiece.

You’ll be introduced to essential hand-building techniques, including how to shape clay, make impressions using texture tools or found objects, and securely bond pieces together. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity and curiosity!

Ms. Lana Hall, will be our professional on-site ceramicist instructor.

October 1: Textured Tray
Areas of focus: Creating a slab, forming, work with wet/leather hard clay, impressions & smoothing for a professional finish.

October 8: Christmas Tree or Angel Tealight Sculpture
Areas of focus: Slab building for cone, joining clay, texture/smoothing for a professional finish.

October 15: Lidded Box or Vase
Areas of focus: Pinch pot, joining clay with coil, carving and smoothing for a professional finish.

October 22: Tree Ornaments
Areas of focus: Hand building shapes, texturing with tools and stamps & smoothing for a professional finish.

October 29: Christmas House or Nativity
Areas of focus: Slab building, joining clay and texturing/smoothing for a professional finish.

*Some projects will require a 2nd week if you desire specific glaze and colors.
